Highlights of the Executive Board Meeting Saturday March 9, 2024
We met once again on Zoom.
See, from left, Norma, Phyl, Lennor (oops! missing in action), Helen, Gloria, and Orrie.
This meeting was basically concerned with the BC DKG Annual Spring Conference and AGM and our proposed amendment to the International Constitution which will be presented the International Summer Conference.
As few registrations had been received so far, members who are planning to attend are encouraged to send in their registration and fees to Orrie as soon as possible. The program and registration forms can be found on the BCDKG website.
In her President’s Report, Helen has been very busy watching and participating in Town Hall meetings and other presentations by International. She related that while on vacation in Belize, she met some teachers from New York state who had never heard of DKG. Hence, her statement that “nobody knows who we are!”
Helen also, at the suggestion of Judy Mertz (editor of the Bulletin), will ask for the reasons behind the International Executive Board's decision not to adopt our proposal for a name change.
We are reminded that the Town Hall Meeting where our proposal was discussed (on Thursday March 14th) has been recorded, but is not yet available on the International website.
Just a reminder that Helen and Norma will be attending this Convention in National Harbor, Maryland, July 9 – 13, 2024 and would really love to have more members join them!
