The state organization of British Columbia was founded June 7, 1952. British Columbia was the first state organization outside the continental United States, making DKG truly international.
British Columbia is part of the Northwest Region and has three local chapters, which were officially re-named by their geographical locations in September 2013:
Vancouver Chapter (formerly known as Delta): located in Vancouver.
Fraser Shores Chapter (formerly known as Gamma): located in
Coquitlam, Surrey, and New Westminster areas of Greater
Vancouver, along the Fraser River.
South Vancouver Island Chapter (formerly known as Lambda): located
in the Greater Victoria and southern Vancouver Island area.
Here in BC, we have 47 Provincial members (AGM April 20, 2024 report).
Vancouver has 26 active members, Fraser Shores has 12 active members,
and South Vancouver Island has 7 active members and 2 reserve members.

Totem Talk
Totem Talk
Totem Talk, (Volume 29, No. 3), Spring Issue
Our editor tells us: The theme of the issue is pruning and growth. We need to prune away some of the things that hinder growth -- addressed by Helen -- and make the connections that lead to growth. This issue emphasizes growth by demonstrating the amazing connections that we can make as educators with other DKG women. We are more than a group of women in our chapter; we are more than a group of women in our province. Let us be international with intent.

2024 CONVENTION
The 2024 International Convention will be held at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland, U.S.A. The Gaylord National Resort overlooks the Potomac River with waterfront terraces at its back door and the bustling town of National Harbor at its front. From malls to boutiques, live entertainment to casinos, wine bars to restaurants, and ferry terminals to Ferris Wheels, National Harbor has whatever might be your interest. And, if you desire, take the short trip over the river to Washington D.C. and Alexandria, Virginia.
Of course, the convention will also offer all the excitement you have come to expect and more: enjoying keynote speakers, engaging in breakout sessions, networking with members, connecting with old friends, and using your member voice when you vote on proposed amendments to the Society’s governing documents.
Save the date! July 9 – 13, 2024.
Be sure to mark your calendar for the International Convention in National Harbor, Maryland,
in July 9 to 13, 2024. Our amendment to the constitution regarding the Name Change will be on the floor for voting. It should be a very exciting event.
President Helen invites all who can come help support this initiative.
Both she and Past President Norma are going -- JOIN THEM!
